Hi! We’ll Be Back!

the exhibition title, finders: hi we’ll be back, originates from the idea that “trash comes back at the end”, revealing the natural cycle on earth. the concept also echoes anpu’s music piece zoea, which explores the issues of life and death. one one & one once said, “we were just looking for special wastes on beaches and taking photos of them, while we were done, we found out that the beach is so clean.” the team has a deep understanding that oceans are true artists. they expect everyone to see the world from a new perspective – everyone can be a “finder”.

in addition, the team chooses ximen jimmy wuchang, a japanese pub, and q.b. days, a coffee house and café, to initiate their 3-day special programme. one one & one further develops the concept of future kitchen and presents fake meals with nice plate decoration to fool the viewers at the two restaurants, a concrete way to showcase the idea: “fish eats rubbish, and we eat fish, so we eat rubbish.”

_____

“people who have really been to beaches know it well – humans have produced too much junk. that makes junk removal a never-ending job.”

today we dump junk. tomorrow we eat junk.

what we produced, consumed, and dumped becomes junk and wastes at the end. one day, they will come back to us.
